Sisa Tura – Georgian Songs
Healing Songs and Lullabies, Love Songs, Songs of Grief and Longing, Songs for the Soul
with the singers Tamar Buadze, Nana Mzhavanadze and Imke McMurtrie
The Caucasian Democratic Republic of Georgia is one of the cradles of European polyphony with an unbroken singing tradition that stems from pre-christian times. There are many beautiful recordings of Georgian traditional and church songs. This CD is offering a unique collection of Georgian songs especially chosen for the work of music therapists, singing teachers, choir leaders and people who work in hospitals, churches, hospices, in therapy or caring professions or in the field of relaxation, stress management and meditation.
